The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water & the Environment (DAWE) has finalised the seasonal measures for the 2020/21 Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) season.
The measures will apply to goods and vessels exported between September 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021 (inclusive).
The measures will remain consistent with the 2019-2020 season except for the addition of four target risk countries: Portugal, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Moldova.
For the 2020-21 BMSB season, measures will apply to :
- Certain goods manufactured in, or shipped from, a target risk country, and/or
- Vessels that berth at, load, or transship from target risk countries
The classification categories for target high-risk goods remain unchanged.
Offshore treatment of target high-risk goods is again encouraged in order to mitigate costs and delays at the border.
Offshore treatment providers who were registered as approved treatment providers in the 2019-20 season will need to re-register for the 2020-21 season .
