CBP’s mission is to safeguard America's borders while enhancing the nation's global economic competitiveness. An importers’ responsibility to use reasonable care in their day-to-day activities includes understanding the most common importer errors, preparing for a focused assessment, and understanding how the priority trade issues impact daily affairs. Other topics to be discussed include classification; valuation; recordkeeping; post-entry activity; and origin determination.
This educational seminar has been developed to help educate traders about core trade compliance concepts. These concepts will help traders understand their roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement of merchandise as well as provide a framework for the processes and procedures that should be in place to run a successful trade compliance program.
