About the Seminar:
CBP's mission is to safeguard America's borders while enhancing the Nation's global economic competitiveness. Importer's' responsibility to use Reasonable Care in their day-to-day activities includes understanding the Most Common Importer Errors, preparing for a Focused Assessment, and understanding how the Priority Trade Issues impact daily affairs.
In today's heightened regulatory environment, errors in ECCN determination, export valuation, or export reporting can result in penalties and shipment delays. We will review commodity jurisdiction, classification and licensing, trade embargoes, denied party screening, fines and penalties, creating an effective export compliance program, and documentation and record keeping. There will also be a hands-on workshop to practice ECCN and licensing determinations, so bring your laptops.
