As global awareness of climate change and businesses increasingly prioritize environmental responsibility, customers in Penang are increasingly evaluating how their logistics choices impact the planet. At Expeditors, we're proud to be leading the way with innovative solutions by introducing 100% solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) trucking solutions that support a cleaner, greener future.

Our latest initiative aligns with Malaysia’s national goal of achieving net zero by 2050. By integrating EV trucks powered entirely by solar energy into our operations, we’re reducing greenhouse gas emissions while helping customers meet their own decarbonization goals.

P2345275-1

The Foton eAumark BJ1045EVJAR3 trucks we placed into service feature zero-emission electric powertrains, a payload capacity of 2,440 kilograms, and a range of over 200 kilometers per charge. Charged via photovoltaic solar panels, these vehicles offer a quiet, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible alternative to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks.

What This Means for Our Customers

  • Cleaner Deliveries: Zero tailpipe emissions and significantly lower well-to-wheel GHG emissions compared to traditional ICE alternatives.
  • Improved Performance: Quieter operation and enhanced energy efficiency.
  • Local Reach: Currently serving pickups and deliveries within Penang state, with plans to expand as infrastructure grows.
  • Industry First: Expeditors is among the first to offer this service in Penang, in partnership with a forward-thinking local provider.

Our EV trucks are adaptable across a wide range of industries and applications. This versatility empowers Expeditors Penang to continue pioneering innovative logistics solutions that support Malaysia’s green mobility goals.

This initiative reflects Expeditors’ commitment to environmental sustainability and operational excellence.
