At Expeditors, environmental sustainability is one of the three pillars of our overall sustainability program. Earth Day provides a good opportunity to look back at what we have accomplished on the environmental sustainability front and to renew our efforts to positively impact the environment and the communities we operate in.

We recently released our 2024 Sustainability Report, which showcases our commitment to maintaining sustainable practices across our global operations.  Below are a few highlights from the environmental section of our report:

Energy and Emissions Reduction

Expeditors continues to make significant strides in reducing energy consumption and emissions within our operations on a per-square-foot basis, and we are proud of our progress towards the Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets we set in 2022. You can read more about the measures we have implemented and our trajectory towards meeting our goals on pages 9-15 of our 2024 Sustainability Report.

Collaboration with Customers and Service Providers

A cornerstone of our environmental strategy is collaboration with our customers and service providers. We can help our customers analyze their supply chains and identify opportunities to reduce the emissions associated with their logistics networks. As a non-asset-based logistics provider, we are well-positioned to work with our service providers to implement those solutions. Page 13 of our 2024 Sustainability Report showcases a successful outcome we delivered for one customer last year.

Transparency and Reporting

We provide detailed reporting on our environmental impact, allowing stakeholders to track progress and understand the effectiveness of various initiatives. In addition to the information we provide annually in our Sustainability Report, we make disclosures through two independent third-party organizations: EcoVadis and CDP.
