Description
All merchandise imported into the United States is subject to appraisement. The Trade Agreements Act of 1979 sets forth six different methods of appraisement of imported merchandise. Under the Customs Modernization Act, it is the responsibility of the importer of record to use “reasonable care” to “enter,” “classify,” and “value” imported goods.

About the Instructor
Shelley’s 20 years of experience includes both in-house compliance management and outside consulting. Her specialties are duty mitigation, import and export controls and procedures, Focused Assessments, and post-transaction activities. Shelley holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Oregon and is a US Licensed Customs Broker.
