Companies that export merchandise from the U.S. may be entitled to participate in the Duty Drawback program. Drawback is the recovery of up to 99% of duties and fees paid on imported materials that are later exported from the U.S. either in the same condition or as a component of a finished article. Customs estimates that billions of dollars in duties and fees that are eligible for drawback recovery go unclaimed each year. This information session is designed to provide you with the tools necessary to assess your drawback eligibility and to decide if a program is right for your company.
Topics to be discussed:
- Manufacturing
- Unused and rejected merchandise
- Audits and record-keeping
- Privilege and ruling application
- Approval process
- Calculating drawback recovery
- "Drawback Simplification Law" highlights
